The adventure continues in part two of Borderlands The Fall of Fyrestone! The Vault Hunters know that saving Fyrestone means a confrontation with Nine Toes. To succeed they'll need to enlist the help of a reclusive, quirky blind man. Fan favorite TK Baha makes his comic debut! The action heats up and things get complicated for our heroes in the continuation of this four-part story! Claptrap and TK Baha in the same issue? It's almost too much awesome to handle!

Comic books are very much about the economy of words. You only have so many pages, and so much space within those pages, to write a complete story. You can't just fill entire panels or pages with walls of text (unless you're Alan Moore oh snap sick burn). Every word has to matter. Every image has to be striking and move the story forward. This issue of Fall of Fyrestone really struck me, as it managed to tell an emotional back story for T.K. Baha in as lean a way as possible, without losing any impact. If anything, the restraint on display gives more weight to the story told. It also manages to have badass action moments for every one of the Vault Hunters; especially Lilith, although I may be biased, as she's my favorite.
To have such a self-contained story told so well in such a massive universe is a thing of beauty. This issue fires on all cylinders, and the harmony between words and images is wonderful. A damn fine read. I'll be eagerly anticipating issue #3.
